Members visiting San Francisco will be happy to know that we have a reciprocal agreement with the University Club of San Francisco.

The University Club of San Francisco was founded in 1890. The club’s current home is an Italianate Renaissance structure built in 1909 on top of Nob Hill in one of the most exclusive sections of the city with wonderful views of the downtown skyline. The club is four blocks from the Financial District, four blocks from Union Square shopping, and approximately 40 minutes from the San Francisco International Airport. The Powell Street cable car and the California Street cable car lines intersect in front of the club.

The club was completely renovated in 2010 including all overnight rooms.

The clubhouse features:

A main dining room on the third floor with scenic views of San Francisco, bar and dining room on the fourth floor with an adjacent billiard and games room. A large reading room on the fourth floor with views of Telegraph Hill, the Transamerica Tower and San Francisco Bay. A library. Sixteen overnight rooms (continental breakfast is complimentary for guests staying overnight). An adjacent athletic annex with a fitness center, five squash courts, steam rooms and saunas was added in 2005.

The club can accommodate up to 400 guests for private functions and events.

The founding purpose of the club was to foster fellowship in the furthering of intellectual, social, and athletic pursuits, all endeavors our members continue today. The club has many events throughout the year including lectures on art, literature, history and public affairs.
