Dr Shideh Pouria raises awareness of the way our bodies interact with factors such as environmental toxins, microbes, lifestyle and dietary habits. Healthy nutrition, and avoidance of toxic substances in our food, water, and personal care products all play a part in ensuring good health. Dr Shideh Pouria will identify risk factors, mineral and vitamin deficiencies, the presence of toxins and allergies and create tailor-made treatment plans to correct these.
Dr Pouria qualified in 1991 and has worked in numerous clinical and academic posts within the NHS and most recently held a consultant post in Renal Medicine at Guy’s Hospital. She has extensive experience in general and specialist medicine as well as in medical research in the field of mucosal immunology. It was through her PhD project in immunology that she became interested in the role of environmental factors in health and disease. She embarked on her training with the British Society for Ecological Medicine in 2006, was the Medical Director at the Burghwood Clinic for Allergy, Environmental and Nutritional Medicine, until she joined Grace Medical in November 2013.
Dr Pouria’s approach to medical problems is based on the concept of cause and effect as well as seeking out the effects of environmental and nutritional factors on the health of the individual. She is dedicated to creating a system of individualized comprehensive health care for her patients based on sound scientific and clinical research and evidence.
