Private morning cortisol and broader wellness testing
Cortisol & Stress Blood Test Home Kits UK
Explore morning cortisol within a broader 17-marker wellness screen covering thyroid function, vitamins, magnesium, CRP, cholesterol and kidney-related measurements.
Cortisol changes naturally across the day and responds to illness, sleep, exercise, pregnancy, medicines and physical or emotional stress. One morning result cannot diagnose chronic stress, burnout, “adrenal fatigue”, Addison’s disease or Cushing syndrome.

Fainting, confusion, severe vomiting, dehydration, very low blood pressure, chest pain, severe breathlessness or feeling unsafe because of mental-health symptoms requires prompt medical assessment.

Frequently asked questions
Cortisol and stress blood test FAQs
What is cortisol?
Cortisol is a steroid hormone produced by the adrenal glands. It contributes to metabolism, blood pressure, immune activity and the response to physical and emotional stress.
Why must cortisol be tested in the morning?
Cortisol follows a daily rhythm. Morning reference intervals are only meaningful when collection occurs in the specified time window.
Can a cortisol test tell me whether I am stressed?
No. Stress is not diagnosed through one cortisol measurement.
Can this test diagnose burnout?
No. Burnout and work-related stress are assessed from symptoms, circumstances and their effect on functioning.
Can it diagnose adrenal fatigue?
No. “Adrenal fatigue” is not a recognised medical diagnosis.
Can low cortisol mean Addison’s disease?
Low cortisol can occur for several reasons. Suspected adrenal insufficiency requires clinical assessment and often specialist testing.
Can high cortisol mean Cushing syndrome?
Not by itself. A single high morning result cannot diagnose Cushing syndrome.
Can steroid medicines affect cortisol?
Yes. Tablets, injections, inhalers, creams and nasal steroids may affect adrenal function or test interpretation.
Can poor sleep affect the result?
Yes. Sleep disruption, shift work and altered waking time may influence cortisol rhythm.
Do I need to fast?
Follow the current kit instructions. The broader wellness panel includes lipid markers and may require fasting.
What happens if I collect outside the morning window?
The result may not be interpretable against the supplied morning reference interval and a repeat sample may be needed.
Is the product image fully visible on mobile?
Yes. The packaging uses uncropped contain scaling so all printed text remains visible.
